In today’s workplace good Health & Safety practices are essential, and in construction and construction related activity, CSCS and CPCS cards are required to obtain access to both residential and commercial building developments.
With recent changes to the card schemes, your employees will not be able to gain a full competence card in any occupation without the achievement of the relevant NVQ.
NVQs are designed specifically to demonstrate occupational competence in the workplace. We start at a minimum of NVQ Level 2 to coincide with the Government’s target minimum level of qualification for the entire UK workforce.
We offer a wide range of NVQ training and assessment. What's more, depending on your business circumstances, the area you live in and the NVQ required, you may even be able to apply for funding!
Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS)
You can apply for the Skilled Worker CSCS card (Blue) if you have achieved a construction related Level 2 NVQ.
You can apply for the Supervisory CSCS card (Gold) if you have achieved a construction related supervisory NVQ at level 3 or 4.
You can apply for the Manager CSCS card (Black) if you have achieved a construction related NVQ at Level 5, 6 or 7 in the relevant construction management level qualification. You will also need a pre-existing Level 4 NVQ in construction management.
Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS)
To extend your Trained Operator card (Red) by 12 or 24 months you will need to be registered for an NVQ in a related industry.
To move from your Trained Operator card (Red) to a Competent Operator card (Blue) or if you are working directly towards your Competent Operator card (Blue) you will need to achieve a Level 2 NVQ with units relevant to your industry.
